Okay, Mac owners may continue their gloating, as this indie RPG is old news for them. But Windows RPG fans can read this preview of the upcoming Windows port of the first game in Spiderweb’s new RPG series, Avadon, provided by Brother None at GameBanshee…

Avadon: The Black Fortress Preview

The game is still slated for a “late April release,” which could mean it’ll be available later this afternoon, or could run late into sometime in May. Based on Spiderweb’s track record, I’m kinda figuring closer to the former.

I’m looking forward to playing the game.

I’m looking forward to this game as well. He’s never let me down before in the past and from all indications he isn’t going to start anytime soon.

Did anyone play Exult back in the day? I never played that series because I was broke as hell back then and didn’t have a credit card to get it. I finally wised up when Nethergate was released and sent him a money order. That game remains the best game he has made so far although it wasn’t the most popular.

I never did understand why people didn’t like that one. You essentially got two games in one. You played the Romans or the Celts.

I am a sucker for the “real” farie tales though and he did a lot of research on it for that game. I wish that one had been a little more popular then maybe he would have made more than just one of them.

I loved his games. But the sequels were so similar that I felt I’d already played them. I finally stopped buying any more.

I don’t know how a game developer can avoid something like that. I mean, I want a sequel that’s like the game I enjoyed, but also different enough that it feels like a brand new experience. Heh. I don’t want much, do I? 🙂

Anyway, I’ll be anxious to get a look at this one.

Hope it would be a good game. So far I can say I am extremely disappointed with Dragon Age 2 which forced to sate my rpg appetite with installing Diablo 2 Lod / Median XL Mod. Yeah I know its really old game but I haven’t played it in past 5-6 years.
