Hegemony: Philip of Macedon on Sale via Steam

Posted by Rampant Coyote on December 30, 2010

As a game developer, I have grave misgivings over the extreme-discount sales popularized by places like Steam that practically give away reasonably recent indie releases. But as a customer, I’ll take what I can get and get over my guilt later. Anyway, until about 11:00 AM my time (mountain), Hegemony: Philip of Macedon is on sale for a mere $3 via Steam. IMO, game is a bargain at full price, so I’d recommend snagging it in the next few hours if my write-up earlier this month struck your fancy at all.

Supply lines you say? Dammit, supply lines and the disruption thereof are one of the features I dream of for the RTS I plan to write one day. Guess I’ll just have to go ahead and purchase this one then. 🙂

Man, this game looks too good to pass up. And it even costs less than lunch! I just had to get it.

I have concluded from this game and Elemental that cloth maps in strategy games are great. Who would have thought that maps would be the ideal way to visualise a strategic overview of an area…

If anyone is feeling guilty about their bargain, it looks like the expansion is going to be released soon, so there’s always buying that when it comes out to make you feel better. That’ll be my excuse anyway.
