Queen Lorelai has ruled with fairness and kindness for many years, but now faces a threat from within. A group has been fomenting revolution, spreading lies, encouraging attacks, and have with them a woman with a claim upon the throne - a potential new queen. Desperately defending her land from the violent onslaught of the revolutionaries, Lorelai turns to three allies in whom she can trust - her adopted daughter Victoria, the former outlaw Alkor, and the newly trained mage Celine. Will their loyalty and courage be enough to prevent the land from falling to the usurpers?

The New Queen - Truth Be Told is a game from indie Warfare Studios, makers of Dark Souls and Dark Souls II. It features a somewhat different art style from most RPG Maker titles, eschewing the hyper-deformed "chibi" look of the characters for more realistic proportions. The areas are hand-drawn, rather than tile-based.

But like most games embracing the "jRPG" design style, the game is very character-and-story based.

The skill system utilizes a unique "crest" equip system for character customization that rewards thought and planning as you advance through the game. The game also includes a crafting system that rewards exploration when you find recipes and raw materials throughout the game world.
