$19.99 pre-order for beta and such access. I'm going to be on this to the most engulfing degree I can....even more than I did for Knights of the Chalice.

Good candidate for a last hurrah in this blog Coyote!

I was gonna suggest a paypal account... I'm not sure if BMT Micro takes PayPal though. Plimus does.

Ah, I double-checked - BMT *does* use PayPal now. So that's an option. They also offer mail / fax, wire transfer in euros (too freakin' expensive as I recall) -- but I'd just set up a paypal account.

thnx for the info coyote,

i understand the game can be downloaded after paying.. do you know if i would be able to re-download game if i had to reformat my hard drive?

..or if a CD copy can be purchased? (i didn't see this info anywhere else)

(a person is allowed to make a copy of a music/video CD/DVD/software for archive / backup purposes)

i wouldn't want to pay more than once for the game is all..

thanks for your time Smile

I think the available download link eventually expires. But there's no problem with backing up the installation. Archive it on a CD or something, as well as your license information (name and key). Worst-case scenario, you can always contact Soldak to help you recover your key info, but that would be a pretty big headache to dig it up.

Ouch 100MB on dialup! Hope that went well Smile

I'm thinking there's some serious competition for my Underworld.

Din's Curse has its share of blame for my lack of progress last week on Frayed Knights. The game is quite addictive.

Right now the worst town to start in, IMO, is one that has already been destroyed. There's like one quest-giver, and he wasn't a vendor, and I never found a vendor in the dungeon. Although the game reported vendors showing up in town, but I never saw them...

i used a download manager to get the din's curse demo (while i slept) it took +/- 7 hours.

i haven't found a destroyed town yet, played about 5-6 towns (there's only so much fun one can have with a gimped lvl 5 toon)

there is good randomisation. some vendors and npc's in dungeons are a bit stupid, but i don't expect complete realism. (npc's requiring escort, standing amidst enemy, instant death & fail, etc)

there were some features of gameplay that i didn't like.
sounds like you have full version, coyote?

do you know if the clicking to attack has been addressed? (depths of peril was better, in that you could set it to auto-attack a nearby enemy) the current method is tedious.

summoned skeletons and the like were essentially useless, even at such a low level fighting equivalent low level opponents, they are never where you want them and.. they are just useless.. (deletes necromancer/healer hybrid char.)

does the game have an actual storyline.? the demo appears to be a continuing sandbox of sorts, which was nice, because i can continue playing, albiet with 5th lvl max toon.

what's the multiplayer like..? (not that i'll be using that feature any time soon on dialup)

do you have the game (demo) donovan? it's sweet eh? Cool

Quote:
vendors showing up in town

they seem to appear near the town gate (not the teleport things, the actual wall/door/gate graphic of the town wall)

I haven't played it multiplayer yet. But yeah, I have the full version, and have been trying out some classes. My fighter is about level 18 now.

The storylines are all pretty dynamic - but computer-generated, so they aren't thick with plots and characters.
