Hollywood Video is going out of business. When they started trying to charge us more money to "insure" ourselves against damage to DVDs that they - and everyone else - used to cover for free, I knew their time was nearly up...
Anyway, everything's on sale. The videos are somewhat picked over (but I still grabbed Drag Me To Hell for 30% off), as were the videogames, but I managed to snag a few RPGs for the XBox 360...
* My daughter bought Eternal Sonata. Cool. She's been mooching off of my gaming collection for years, now I can mooch off of hers...
* Tales of Vesperia - I played this one for a little bit this evening. Wow. Looks like it has potential, and it's very highly rated. It may be a winner.
* The Last Remnant - I've been warned that this one isn't exactly the best jRPG around, but it IS a turn-based RPG. Unfortunately, my machine is having problems reading the first disc... Caveat Emptor. Hopefully I'll be able to get it cleaned up & working.
I also picked up a copy of the Ghostbusters game.
Unfortunately, it's not like I have *time* to play these games. I'm actually setting aside 20-30 minutes a night *specifically* to play RPGs (new games, retro, indie, and mainstream --- doesn't matter) just so I can make sure I don't run out of material to rant about on the blog... _________________ Rampant Games

I think I've had more games than I can play for about the last ten years - ever since I've had a job and the disposable income to waste on them... I've now started a list so when I want to play a game I can see what I haven't played rather than trawling through all my cupboards and shelves.
It's distressing how many games I own I've never even installed, let alone beaten!
All these sales are also distressing. I end up with too many new games. |

I had to cut myself off.
I can't buy any more games until I finish some of the ones I have. It's just not worth it.
Fallout 3 alone is going to take me a year to finish. From what I understand, I could finish the main quest in a solid day if I put my mind to it. However, I think the main quest is boring, and I'm pretty much not working on it at all. |
