In a longer, complete game ( but kinda moot in a short demo like Pokmor), it's very important to consider how the loot and XP in a particular dungeon are balanced with regard to the overall adventure and world. Too little, and the player is like, "Why did I come here again???"; too much, and the player may very well end up bored and quitting prematurely due to the lack of challenge.

Yeah, probably obvious to most of us, I think, but... I have a friend that occasionally runs pen & paper RPGs, and he doesn't understand this. Within 3-4 play sessions, he's already given the players gobs of stuff -- weapons, armor, cash, you name it -- and then he wonders why they get bored with his campaign. =)
