Frayed Knights – Steam Store Page Up, Community Support Needed

Posted by Rampant Coyote on July 22, 2014

Okay, folks. I can use some help here.

I know many of you have already played through all or most of Frayed Knights: The Skull of S’makh-Daon. If you have, I could use some support :

Frayed Knights: The Skull of S’makh-Daon on Steam

I could use some reviews, community discussion, support, screen shots, etc. there.

If you previously obtained the game from Rampant Games directly and are willing / interested in writing a review on Steam this week, please let me know via email or twitter PM. The jayb addy works best. I’m trying to get a lot of things done quickly, and I may even push out the release date a few days if I have to, but I can use every bit of support you guys are willing to offer. I’d love the site to have content from people other than me on launch day (or shortly before / after, where possible).

Thank you all for your help – big and small. Even little words of encouragement and optimism (when I felt little, myself) helped a great deal.

    You can do eeeeet!

  • Daniel King said,

I just looked and there doesn’t seem to be an option to add reviews yet.

  • Daniel King said,

I’ve posted a comment and thumbs up on your steam update though. 🙂

  • Rampant Coyote said,

I’m guessing you need to own the game *from* Steam to write a review. Contact me via email.

  • Daniel King said,

Sure, I’ve added a mini review in the forums to.

    Daniel.

    Email sent to feedback@rampantgames.com.

Might help to get some reviews if you distribute Steam keys to Desura and the bundle sites that people got it from. Admittedly that might not be possible with Bundle In A Box closing but you should be able to do it with Desura and Groupees ( It was in a Groupees bundle, right?).

I’d be happy to give it a good review on Steam but I don’t plan on re-buying it a second time.

I added a comment under Daniel’s. Best of luck on your Steam launch. I hope that you get more exposure there, they are the 800 lb gorilla in PC gaming these days.

I’m working out the technical details — that’s a lot of keys. But I’ve already talked to the guy who runs (ran) Bundle-In-A-Box, and I’ll be working stuff out as quickly as I can.

I’ll tell ya, I appreciate finally being on Steam, but the timing was pretty terrible with the current stage (and deadlines) of the sequel.

There we go, was finally able to add a review, I had to do it from within the Steam client, the online option doesn’t seem to appear until it’s been released.

  • Daniel King said,

How come there is a deadline for the sequel? Isn’t it still quite far away?

  • Rampant Coyote said,

Doncha think it’s taken long enough already?

We’re going to be showing the game at Comic Con in just over a month. So… the clock is ticking pretty fast, as we need to hit some milestones between then and now.

  • Daniel King said,

Awesome, looking forward to it. 🙂

Can Frayed Knight support multi language ?

I think it is a must have since there is a lot of text in Frayed 🙂

  • Rampant Coyote said,

Technically – it’s possible but extremely difficult and expensive. Some text – like the dialogs – would be relatively easy to replace, so a partial translation would be possible if I could afford it.

But on the non-technical side… so much of the game is about humor, word-play, even a word-based puzzle, that I doubt would translate well. (Then again, with my lame jokes, maybe a translator could improve things in that respect).
