Aldorlea Games Interview
Indinera Falls, prolific designer of an incredible number of RPG Maker-based commercial indie RPGs over the last two years, has been interviewed by RPG Fan. Enjoy!
RPGFan Interview with Indinera Falls of Aldorlea Games
An excerpt:
Enjoy!RPGFan: Where do you see the future of indie gaming headed?
IF: It's hard to tell. Big portals tend to favor shorter games at lower prices, which is not a good thing for an RPG developer and true RPGs. There might eventually be a bigger separation between niche stuff (to which those real RPGs seem bound to belong) and casual indie gaming. But in both cases it should be more and more, both in quality and quantity.

About time! That's a well deserved interview! In fact hadn't you done one with him a while back?
Indinera has been recently releasing a lot of games but people shouldn't be fooled into thinking that this means lower quality games. The reality is that his company is growing and with that comes more funds for resources as well as helping hands.
If anything I believe that he has just been outdoing himself with each new release and raising the standards and pushing barriers on what is possible to achieve with the RPG maker engine.
Has anyone played Millennium 2? Don't be put off by the invisible monsters, the game is simply the best RM game I have ever seen!
It really justified and cemented the award title of best 2009 Indie game given to Millennium also by RPG Fan!

Yep, I'm pretty impressed with what he's done so far. Jealous? Yeah, just a little. But the quality has definitely improved over time, and Aldorlea's games are definitely fun (even if I occasionally take exception to a story's premise...)
It's good stuff. And I can't believe how quickly he's able to put these together. It's like turning the game-making process from being like "making a movie" to "making a TV series." I want some of whatever he's smoking!

Catching up on that premise of yours... did you have the chance to play Millennium 2? I would like to see/hear if you are still not convinced by the game!
I agree it is like making a series - but isn't that the only way to go if you want big portals to take your games? Just take a look at Amaranth and their latest Aveyond - they too divided it up in chapters.
Although in my opinion they lowered their quality a bit - Aveyond 1 and 2 were better games than the latest ones.
Millennium didn't fall for that mistake - visuals and sound are the best that I've seen from Aldorlea and gameplay stays as amazing as ever with an incredible depth.

I have not yet, and I really want to! In the time that I've been *swamped* Aldorlea has released TWO FRIGGIN' GAMES! I'm so far behind the power curve it's not funny.
