Might & Magic Six-Pack at gog.com
Not the drinking kind of six-pack... but...
Might & Magic Limited Edition (Six Pack) - $9.99 at GOG.COM
Ummm.... wow. So considering the SIZES of the Might & Magic games: If you bought this today and played 10-12 hours a week, you might finish this whole thing... oh, sometime next spring or summer, maybe.
I don't know how many people would be keen to tackle the first three games all the way to completion - even as a retro-gamer I'm not sure I'd have quite that level of ambition and stamina. But it a really is good deal and a lot of old-school CRPG goodness.

I recently played Worlds of Xeen (M&M 4+5 merges together for lots of extra goodness, as you all probably know) again. And it is nice and fun and all that. Really enjoyed it.
I'm more of a M&M than Wizardry person, and are fantastically(!!) tempted to buy this, even though I have 4, 5 and VI box'ed.
Really want to play VI again, and this might be better than spending time getting it running from the CD.

World of Xeen is where M&M got fun for me. I never could get into the earlier ones. If I read right, GOG also has a buy get one on interplay titles coming up as well.
Since I've been playing old RPGs lately I think I'm going to have to pick this up. Love me some GOG!
Have been waiting impatiently for this glorious 6-pack since it was announced a while back so this was an instant purchase for me. Apart from about 10-15 hours with MM3 last year I haven't played MM1-5 much, but I'm very familiar with MM6-9 (yes, I even played through the infamous MM9 and kinda liked it). Despite being awfully simplistic in many of its core elements, the more streamlined and accessible gameplay experience provided by the later entries in the series can be frighteningly addictive in a Diablo-esque manner.
Of course, everyone knows that MM3-5 (especially 4-5) are the real classics here, and I look forward to sinking my +5 Vampiric Teeth into them...

This is a steal.
Great deal. I've played through number 5. Back then my friend and I whipped out the graph paper and meticulously mapped the entire world.
Boy did we have some stamina back then.

So, I gave in to 'Bargain!' and bought this pack.
Having *never* played the series, though, it's a little confusing, especially as I'm out of the habit of attempting to completely memorise game manuals before trying to play the game. (Also, Xeen's copy-protection prompt appears broken? It mentions page numbers, but when I try the manual that came with, they don't match up... it at least once pointed me to a page with no text on it at all!)
I've loaded most of the games and looked at their control screens somewhat blankly. Most hadn't even invented tooltips yet!
With a little more time I'm sure I'll figure out how to play something...

I can't speak for this pack (haven't picked it up yet), but other games I've picked up from gog.com have DOSBox built-in for compatibility with Windows XP, etc. But it all comes pre-configured so you don't have to do anything other than clicking on the icon. :) So it's all "under the hood."
They all include DOSBOX preconfigured (although the configuration for MM1 might need a bit tweaking because even at 2000 cycles the text is TOO fast). MM1 to MM5 that is - MM6 is a windows program that seems to work just fine under my Vista installation (i assume being fully software rendered helps to avoid compatibility issues with the future :-P).
As for the games themselves. I've just bought them. I'm not sure if i'll ever finish any of them - or move beyond the starting point - though :-P.

I started with Worlds of Xeen and moved on to MM6 which I completed last year. You spend a day or two getting back into the swing of the old production values but once you're immersed, the games are just as fun as modern ones. They're never going to be classics of game design or production values but for the particular niche they fill it's hard to find much better.
