Bruce Does Me Wrong
So I guess I am kind of a fan of Bruce Campbell.

Of course, I enjoyed Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. I loved seeing Bruce Campbell in Xena and Hercules. I watched about half of Brisco County Junior. I was thrilled to see him in cameo roles in the Spider-Man movies. I loved his autobiography ("If Chins Could Kill"). I even enjoyed Bubba Ho-Tep and his Old Spice commercial.

Oh, yeah. Congo sucked. But even movies and shows that suck - if they have Bruce Campbell in them - suck a little less.

Usually.

But I just watched The Man With the Screaming Brain. Written by, directed by, and starring Bruce Campbell.

Nobody should ever, Ever, EVER let him do that again.

(Oh, yeah, it was a Sci Fi original. Why do you ask?)

Campbell pokes fun at Screaming Brain in the other -- much BETTER -- movie he directed, My Name Is Bruce.

"Sure you're ready for this, Bruce?"

"Kid, I made a movie in Bulgaria."

Awesome.

"scifi original" tells all.

He's also currently on the TV show 'Burn Notice', on USA. Its about a spy who's been 'burned' (fired), and Bruce Campbell plays the buddy of the main character. Its a pretty decent show. I guess I would describe it as an updated MacGuyver/A-Team mixed with the Bourne Identity.

I was unfortunate enough to see that in the theater, and Bruce himself was there at the time. That was uncomfortable for everyone.

Perhaps you haven't heard of another Bruce Campbell/Sci-Fi Original called Alien Apocalypse.

It has both Campbell and Renee O'Conner (Gabrialle from Xena). It is very tough to watch. Ouch!

My name is Bruce is on my list of movies to watch.

I think, after this experience I may avoid Alien Apocalypse. There's just only so much pain I'm willing to subject myself to....

So Marc - you were there at a screening with Bruce himself, huh? Man. So was the audience just silent at the end? Awkward!
