Dragon Tavern
Thomas Rice wrote me yesterday to note that there's another RPG-esque web game out that the new Legends of Zork more closely resembles than Kingdom of Loathing. It is entitled Dragon Tavern, and has been around for about a year. You can check it out here:

Yes, that's me. Shamelessly promoting other people's games. If you've tried it out and feel like reporting on it (or Legends of Zork), please post here in the comments or on the handy-dandy forums.
Update: LazerFX also notes the style of game was popularized by the Legend of the Red Dragon BBS Door game - man, I actually remember those - which now lives on in various incarnations, including the Legend of the Green Dragon.

Actually, it's based on Seth Able Robinsons's "Legend of the Red Dragon" BBS Door game, remade as Legend of the Green Dragon (lotgd.net) - for full history, see http://lotgd.net/about.php
The link is a bit broken (I suspect you forgot the http:// when originally writing it, and Blogger has done Weird Things since).
I've tried a few rounds of LoZ now; it's not bad as a time-waster but it's neither especially fun nor particularly Zork-ish.
I've also played LoGD off-and-on for a while; it's much more fun, especially on servers that have a bunch of extensions enabled. (I seem to go through phases where I play it obsessively for a few days and then completely forget about it for a few weeks, though. That might just be me.)

Thanks for the heads-up Miral. I don't know why blogger decided to play games with my link, but it's fixed now.
I've also played about two days of LoZ now. I haven't gotten far - I keep hoping that there's more interesting stuff waiting in the wings. But it only takes about five to ten minutes to run out of action points, so I haven't done much.

I've been trying LoZ as well. It's mildly interesting, but the AP really restrict the exploration aspect. I enjoy playing around with systems like this, trying to min/max everything, but having to wait a day between actions means I forget a lot of what I'm working on.
The game itself actually reminds me a lot of progress quest, unfortunately.
