MMOs: Everyone's Doing It!
So why not you? Come on... all the cool kids are making their own MMO...
Antiques Roadshow Online. And the Cat MMO. And More!
Who wants to be a level 60 spreadsheet? I know I do!
Hey, is it really any weirder than the just-announced Legos Massively Multiplayer Online Game?

I am SO digging the thought of a LEGO MMO! I suggested this as a perfect kid-friendly sandbox community quite some time ago. It's good to know the universe is listening... now, let's hope they do it right!
That's the trick, though, isn't it? The implementation.
The *CONCEPT* of the upcoming MMO based on the posthumous-hit-TV-series "Firefly" is thrilling to me. However, I'm not really looking forward to the game (yet). Because it's going to be really easy to screw up.
I actually think that those goofy concepts (like the Cat MMO) could actually be made into a fun and even successful game for a limited audience. But it's all in the execution. Get someone passionate about the subject, and they may surprise you.

After seeing the Multiverse MMO/Virtual world engine(?) heck, I'm tempted to make a Not-So-MMO virtual world just to tinker with. FREE (for casual users like me at least) being the price tag that got my interest. ^o^
Apparently Multiverse is what the Firefly MMO will be based on as well.

Actually the thought of using Legos in an MMO game/world sounds fun...not that I have played any MMOs. But the idea sounds at least interesting to me.
I remember as a kid having some GIANT tinker toys. These tinker toys were big enough to build forts and tents and chairs and even a go cart.
Legos are all about imagination... let it take it where it will.

Kingdom of Loathing was an MMO, Kelly :) So you have played one.
13th Rabbit - I didn't realize that the Multiverse technology was purely (at least so far) a percentage-of-revenue thing. That's potentially a VERY interesting opportunity for indies.
