Future Play Competition
So let's say you are a beginning indie game developer, still in school and wondering how in the world you can compete against these experienced, professional game devs out there.
Well, one option that was just brought to my attention is FuturePlay. They have a competition in November in Toronto with the following stipulations:
- Only full-time college or high school students may have worked on the game, and those student developers must have been enrolled in school at least through the Spring 2007 quarter/semester at that school.
- You must have had no professional game developers help develop your entry. The spirit of this event is to showcase what students can do, unassisted by professionals. Your teacher/professor, of course, is an exception unless they are a professional developer.

There's a similar sounding competition that runs anually in Scotland (and a couple of universities from Canada) and will hopefully expand to include university/college students from all over the UK, soon.
