What I Did This Summer
Looks like the press release has gone out, and it's all official, so I can tell everyone what I did last summer. And last fall. And last spring. Pretty much up until a little over a month ago.

Yes, it fits the definition of an "indie" game. No publishers were harmed during the creation of this game. I'm still kinda amazed it's all come together - the project was really pretty tremendous in scope, even though we developers kept arguing to get it scoped down further.

Working on an MMO has been an eye-opening experience. There were times when I wondered if we'd EVER get done. While it's still not technically done (and I got pulled off when we went alpha to head up programming on a new project, so I've been out of the loop on it for a little over a month), it's really amazing how far it has come in a relatively short time.

You (and the rest of the Saga team) deserve the utmost congratulations. I look forward to having an opportunity to see it in action.

Huh, all I get is a blank page in Firefox 2. Is there a specific version of browser you need to run to get this to work?

gaah, shoot your web designer. Shiny Flash graphics are not the best way to show off your project when it takes a lengthy delay to load even on a fast web connection - and since I can't cut and paste any text or direct links, I can't share the information about the game with my friends who might be more interested in that style of game than I am.

Please let us know when there's a text/HTML version of the website available?

Matt and Anonymous:

I'll pass those issues on to the responsible parties. I know it runs fine in my version of Firefox (still 1.5), but we'll see what else is going on.

As a dial up user, I got 3% loaded, which took upwards of 2 minutes, and then decided I didn't really need to know about this game after all. Not good!
